Taxonomic note
Silva (1979: 318): %u201CA form from Fort Point with long, delicate, and regularly pinnate ultimate branchlets has been described as a segregate species, Pikea pinnata Setchell.%u201D The latter was included in the synonymy of P. californica by Lindstrom & Scagel (1987) but maintained as a separate taxon by Maggs & Ward (1996) and Boo & al.
