Nomenclatural note
As the epithet referred to is “floresii” not “floresia” (see note under Halymenia floresii, this name should be corrected to “pseudofloresii” . - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry

Taxonomic note
Using COI-5P barcoding, Schneider et al. (2010) found that H. pseudofloresii Collins & M. Howe from its type locality (Bermuda) was a morphologically variable species that included specimens previously attributable to H. floresii in the islands. They showed that H. pseudofloresii grouped with specimens of the generitype H. floresii from near its type locality in Spain using LSU and EF2 alignments. - (18 May 2010) - M.D. Guiry
