This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Lithophyllum stictiforme (Areschoug) Hauck.

Habitat
On rock, or occasionally on molluscs, algae or seagrasses or unattached; occurs in intertidal pools and along reef edges in heavy surf and subtidally to depths of 13 m (Womersley 1996: 237).
