Not clear if this taxon is the same as "80. Achnanthes minutissima Kiitzing var. capitata var. nov. Fig. 98 A. affinis Grunow var. minuta Skvortzov, Diatom. Kizaki Lake (1936) Pl. 10, figs 10, 27; A. affinis Grunow in Skvortzov, Diatom. Biwa Lake (1936) 264, Pl. 5, fig. 18. Valvae brevier quam var. cryptocephala apicibus latior; 1g., 8,5-12 micra; It., 1,7-2,5 micra; striae, 30; apice, 40 in 10 micra." The latter name is invalid in any event.
