Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Gelidium is Gelidium corneum (Hudson) J.V.Lamouroux.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Zuccarelloa ceramoides (Levring) D'Archino & W.A.Nelson.
