Not checked for validity. Not clear if "431. Nitzschia acuta Hantzsch var. argunensis var. nov. Figs 482, 483. Brevior et latior quam typo; apicibus saepe capitatis; lg., 81-93 micra; It., 5-6,8 micra; puncta carinalia, 5-6 in 10 micra; striae gracilis, indistinctae. Hab. prope Hailar, Mongolia Inferior, China." (Skvortsov 2012: 825, figs 482, 483) is the same taxon. No type was indicated in the latter publication - (21 September 2021) - M.D. Guiry
