This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Gayliella flaccida (Harvey ex Kützing) T.O.Cho & L.M.McIvor.

Adjective (Latin), flaccid, not able to hold up its own weight (Stearn 1973).

General Environment
This is a marine species.

Habitat
Common near low tide level and in wave-washed pools, on rock or epiphytic, especially on Corallina (Womersley 1978: 236).
