Nomenclatural note
"This species was described by Meneghini (1844: 182) from Venice (Italy). Both Ardissone (1883: 103) and De Toni (1903: 1485) listed it among the synonyms of C. strictum Greville et Harvey [nomen nudum]. Frauenfeld (1855: 42) proposed the new combination Hormoceras capillaceum (Meneghini) Frauenfeld, reporting the species from Solin (Croatia)." (Cormaci 2023: 190). - (10 November 2023) - M.D. Guiry
