The type species (lectotype) of the genus Membranoptera is Membranoptera alata (Hudson) Stackhouse.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Membranoptera platyphylla (Setchell & N.L.Gardner) Kylin.

UC 284045 cited in Hughey et al., 2017: 41 and in INA [UC number erroneously reported as UC 266290]. Isotype: uC 284046.
