Abstract:
The results of our study on Grateloupia porracea shows that its thalli are hollow at the stage of plantlets about 0. 2 cm in height, its main axes and branches of the larger thalli are also hollow. The cortex layers are disposed in dichotoms branches and more or less anticlinal row. The primary filament of ampullae none or has 1 secondary filament. The carpogonial branch has 1?3 cells. The flank of some carpogones can bear a flank filament, which is composed of 1?4 cells. Therefore, its characteristics are also different from Grateloupia, so we suggested that Grateloupia porracea should be taken out of Grateloupia and found a new genus Sinotnbimorpha, the type species of the genus Sinotubimorpha is S. porracea (Mert. )W. X. Li et Z. F. Ding comb. nov.,collected from Qingdao in 1984.
