Abstract:
A detailed description is given of a new species of Blue-green Alga Microcoleus erectiusculus n. sp., appearing epiphytically and aerophytically on thalli of Schizotrix Friesii (Ag.) Gom. growing on wet paths and forest bottom on the slopes of Góra Parkowa at Krynica (province of Cracow). The characteristics of the species are assembled in Latin diagnosis (p. 771) and presented in Fig. 1A-G and in photographs (Fig. 2 A-D). On a separate table the characteristics of similar species are set out comparatively. The new species M. erectiusculus is similar in width to M. cataractarum Hansg. but differs in the length of cells, lack of separate sheaths in individual trichomes and place of occurrence. It differs from other species in size and shape of the end cell and in its occurrence.
