Abstract:
The present paper describes the first finding of the member of rarely recorded soil green algal genus Trochisciopsis (Vinatzer) in Bulgaria. Aspects of its morphology and reproduction were investigated under LM and SEM and details of its ultrastructure were revealed with TEM. Base on these findings, a new form of the species Trochisciopsis tetraspora Vinatzer is discribed - T. tetraspora f. minor Gärtner, Uzunov, Stoyneva, Kofler & Ingoli. The new form is characterized by i)smaller cells, ii) ribs of the cell walls interrupted towards the pole, not meeting at the pole.
