Nomenclatural note
Illegitimate: superfluous name for Nitophyllum Greville, 1830. Montagne (1839: 33, footnote) says: "Mot hybride qu'on ne saurait admettre, puisqu'il pèche contre les règles établies, et au lieu duquel je propose Aglaophyllum, dont la signification est la même." [Hybrid word we cannot accept, as it sins against the established rules, and instead which I propose Aglaophyllum, the meaning is the same]. Montagne was thus proposing a substitute name for Nitophyllum Greville (derived from Latin, nitor, brightness and Greek, phullon, a leaf) becasue he abhorred the mix of Latin and Greek. The substitute name has the same type (in this case the same lectotype as the substituted name). Such substitution is not permitted by Art. 51.1 (Melbourne Code). - (23 November 2014) - M.D. Guiry
