Request PDFDescription: Thallose; filaments heteropolar, attached by one end to the substrate, erect, near the base laterally branched (true branching of the V-type ?), joined into bluegreen, to 1 mm long, more or less rigid fascicles. Filaments (trichomes) sheathless, always uniseriate, at the end narrowed in a long cellular hair, at the base 24 _m wide, constricted at the crosswalls. Cells cylindrical, longer than wide. Heterocytes and akinetes not observed. Cells divide evidently crosswise, reproduction was not described, hormogonia were not observed. The single (type-) species grows epiphytically, on submersed aquatic plants and algae, mainly reported from freshwater Batrachospermum. Known only from Brazil, maybe only a stage of Nostochopsis.
