Taxonomic status: currently recognized as a distinct genus.

CAS: "5 species, no type seem to have been designated, RCM p. 492, 690 gives the first of them G. vulgaris as the type." This is not in accordance with the ICBN and cannot count as a lectotype selection as "here designated" is not used. - (21 Oct 2011) - M.D. Guiry
