While Druridgea in De Toni (1894: 1328, 1365) is regarded as an orthographic variant (fide INA), the name was conied by Donkin (1861: 13) for Druridge Bay in Northumberland and might have been more correctly rendered Druridgea but the author chose the orthography Druridgia and there is no reason to change his choice. - (21 January 2016) - M.D. Guiry
