INA has "LT=V. lineola O.F.Mueller fide Enlows", but later adds "cf. also Stiles for possible earlier LT". Stiles & Hassall (1905: 38) effectively designated Vibrio proteus as lectotype. It is a synonym of Chaos chaos (Linnaeus), the type of the genus Chaos Linnaeus (Stiles & Hassall 1905: 148) and an unidentifiable amoeba. - (22 January 2024) - E.A. Molinari Novoa
