Taxonomic status: currently recognized as a distinct genus.
Description: 0cm;margin-left:54.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt'> Eutreptia -like cells, the only generic difference being that the 2 emergent flagella are markedly unequal. Some authors merge the genus into Eutreptia (Bourrelly, 1970) but Leedale (1967) keeps it separate. Studied in the EM by Throndsen (1973) and Walne and others (1986). Marine. Comments: Throndsen (1997: 647) record this genus as being a member of the Order Euglenales.
