Description: Small to medium-sized (30 x 22 x 7µm), oblong, laterally compressed flagellates with a very small, cap-like, ventrally inclinded episoma. It is oval in apical view with a pointed truncated ventral side and a rounded dorsal side. The sulcus is deeply impressed in the proximal part of the hyposoma but fades away at the last third. The cingulum is circular and deeply impressed. Sulcus and cingulum are without lists. The cell is covered by smooth thecal plates, the plate formula is Po, 5', 0", 5c, 5s, 5"', 1"". The spherical nucleus is posteriorly located, chloroplasts and starch granules are present. Sexual reproduction and cyst formation not known. Marine, benthic, associated with floating detritus, corral rubble and sediments, so far known only from a tropical mangrove island of Belize.
