Original publication and holotype designation: Skuja, H. (1948). Taxonomie des Phytoplanktons einiger Seen in Uppland, Schweden. Symbolae Botanicae Upsalienses 9(3): 1-399, 39 pls.

Description: Flagellar stubs with disorganized axoneme microtubules, concealed inside flagellar pocket and gliding motion in trophic stage; flagella are gradually built in actively gliding cells; long heterodynamic flagella with PFR in swimming stage, anterior flagellum forming a lasso and the posterior one stretched along the body
