Description: Frustules in girdle view rectangular with rounded corners, plastids unknown. Valves linearelliptic with rounded apices. The valve face flat, turning gradually into relatively deep mantle, which bears a row of puncta. The whole frustule in both LM and SEM appears structureless. The girdle is composed of several plain, open bands.
