Dinoclonium Pascher, 1927

Holotype species: Dinoclonium conradii Pascher

Original publication and holotype designation: Pascher, A. (1927). Die braune Algenreihe aus der Verwandtschaft der Dinoflagellaten (Dinophyceen). Archiv für Protistenkunde 58: 1-54.

Description: Filamentous dinophyte with short branches. Filaments may show creeping movement on other algae. Cells small, 5-15 µm with numerous small chloroplasts. Reproduction by formation of Gymnodinium-like swarmers of about 8-12 µm size. Epiphytic on other algae. Apparently found only once in brackish waters of the Belgian coast.
