Description: Cells solitary, rounded 4-angled with tetrahedrally disposed angles each bearing a straight, hyaline spine. Cell contents colorless. Method of reproduction and flagellated stages unknown. Mycotetraedron, known only from the type locale, a damp wall in a wine cellar in Czechoslovakia. Komárek & Fott (1983) regard this as a genus of doubtful validity.
