Description: Thalli colonial, forming 12-celled flat coenobia, 19 x 13.5 µm. Cells arranged in three alternating rows in one plane, connected by mucilaginous strands. Cells are elongate oval, arranged upright to coenobial plane, 6 x. 3.4 µm. Mucilaginous strands 3-4 µm long, 1 µm wide. Asexual and sexual reproduction and flagellated stages unknown. Very doubtful genus found only once in a spring in Austria.
