Holotype species: Embryocola ocelli Michajlow

Description: Colorless, irregularly elliptical, uniflagellate cell, parasitic in copepods of the genus Megacyclops. Bourrelly (1985) considers it to be closely related to Ovicola and Naupliicola. However, the organisms are so lacking in detail that it is difficult to accept them as euglenoids, let alone different species of a defined genus.
