Description: Bean-shaped flagellate with flat or slightly concave ventral side and convex dorsal side. It possesses three flagella inserted ventrally and emerging near the anterior end from a median furrow. Two flagella are arranged symmetrically, while the third, which is usually longer than the others, has a median position. It is thicker than the others and has been interpreted as a double flagellum. The cell is apparently wall-less. It contains a single parietal chloroplast covering most of the dorsal and lateral sides and two pyrenoids. A single stigma is located near the posterior end of the chloroplast. Several contractile vacuoles. Sexual reproduction unknown. This striking flagellate, described from fresh water in Czechoslovakia (Pascher, 1927), has never been refound.
