Description: Cells solitary, uniflagellate, free-swimming, radially symmetrical with anterior tentacles. Stalk coiled, lacking ability to attach to substratum. Three chloroplasts, with embedded pyrenoids. Cells autotrophic. Body and flagellar scales absent. Cysts unknown.
