Description: Valves linear, asymmetrical about the apical plane. Striae uniseriate, regular at valve margins and valve face perimeter, becoming scattered and irregular towards the valve centre. Raphe slits at both poles, deflected towards ventral side of valve, extending from valve face towards mantle edge, turning inwards; raphe extends towards centre of the valve mantle. Helictoglossa simple, central nodule small. Rimoportulae absent. Sternum ill-defined, with valve face centre composed of scattered striae, with colliculate surface. Girdle bands shallow, with rows of simple pores, regularly spaced. No more than three bands, all open, shallow and lacking any notable structures other than the pores.
