Description: Cell semicircular, biflagellate, phagotrophic possessing several mitochondria, an irregular-shaped paranuclear body, cytoplasmic microtubules, extrusomes. Flagella inserted in a small papilla. Double helix in flagellar transition zone. Terminal filaments two, unequal in length, arising from apex of flagellar hair of anterior flagellum. Posterior flagellum smooth. Cell usually attaching to substratum with distal part of posterior flagellum, not wobbling with the anterior flagellum beating, sometimes gliding or swimming. Two basal bodies right-angled.
