Description: Cell semicircular, biflagellate, phagotrophic. Anterior flagellum active, possessing flagellar hairs in two rows. Terminal filaments two, unequal in length, situated at the apex of the flagellar hair. Posterior flagellum smooth. Flagella arising from papilla. Cells usually attaching to substratum with the posterior flagellum, sometimes gliding or swimming. Double helix present in flagellar transition zones. Mitochondrial cristae tubular.
