Description: Cellulae procaryoticae, in coloniis irregularibus, microscopicis, irregulariter dense aggregatae, vagina circumdatae; cellulae rotundatae, rotundae vel leviter oblongae, differente diametro, contentu aeruginoso, in parte centrali sine coloure. Tegumentum mucilaginosum, translucens, achromaticum, indistincte vel dense lamellosum. Thylakoides paucim fasciculata, irregulariter vel praecipue in partes parietalibus disposita. Reproductio: Divisio cellulis rotundatis (primis) regulariter in planis perpendicularibus, post, in coloniis adultis, irregulariter in generationes successivis. Habitatio: Species aerophyticae. Typus generis: Chalicogloea cavernicola species nova.
