Description: Main vegetative stage a unicellular walled coccoid but sarcinoid colonies also formed. Zoospores released from vegetative cells. Pyrenoid embedded in the chloroplast, with a deep plate-like invagination of the PPC almost separating the pyrenoid and chloroplast. Nucleomorph located at the base of the invagination.
