Description: Thalli consisting of spherical, obovoid or cylindrical cells, growing in various forms: unicells unbranched filaments, pseudoparenchyma, dendroid or palmelloid colonies. Cells contain few parietal, ribbon-like chloroplasts, grey-violet, pink or olive in color. Reproduction by small spores. Sexual reproduction unknown.
