Description: Thallus to 1 dm high, cylindrical axis to 4 mm in diameter, much and irregularly branched, soft and very mucoid. Epilithic, attached to substratum with small discoid holdfast. Medulla multiaxial, of numerous longitudinally orientated hyphae, separated from each others. In the outer medulla the hyphae form a partial reticulum. Subcortex absent. Cortex of assimilatory filaments, hyaline hairs and sporangia arising from the outer medullary fillaments. Assimilatory filaments slightly curved above, consisting of barrel -shaped cells below and moniliform above. Unilocular sporangia ovoid, borne at base of assimilatory filaments. Plurilocular sporangia not known. Life history not studied. Known from 2 collections in northern Tasmania.
