Description: Segregate genus from Ceramium Roth, distinguished from Carpoblepharis Kützing by several features including small, creeping habit. Axes irregularly branched, covered by cortical cells. Carposporophyte with involucre. Tetrasporangia immersed in stichidia, tetrahedrally divided.
