Type Information
Syntype localities: "... dredged in deep water only, down to about 40 meters. It occurs at several places in the Sound between St. Thomas and St. Jan, further near Thatch Gay at St. Thomas where it was collected by Dr. Th. Mortensen and off America Hill on the north side of St. Jan."; (Børgesen 1912: 268) Lectotype (Off America Hill, St Jan, Virgin Islands, Caribbean Sea Schneider & Lane, 2007: 129).: Mortensen s.n.; C; 1762 (Leliaert & Coppejans 2004: 203) Notes: According to Leliaert & Coppejans (2004: 203), the type locality is between St Thomas and St Jan. Lectotype locality: Off America Hill, St Jan, Virgin Islands, Caribbean Sea (Schneider & Lane, 2007: 129).
