The type species (holotype) of the genus Pseudophycodrys is Pseudophycodrys phyllophora (J.Agardh) Skottsberg.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Tokidadendron bullatum (N.L.Gardner) M.J.Wynne.
