Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Surirella nyansae (G.S.West) C.Cocquyt & R.Jahn.

Type locality: Tanzania: Lake Victoria: near Bukoba; (Index Nominum Algarum) Lectotype: West 252; plankton; BM; 34183 (Cocquyt & Jahn 2014: 421) Notes: Collector: W.A. Cunnington 252 (INA). Third Tanganyika expedition conducted by Dr. Cunnington (April 1905) (Cocquyt & Jahn, 2014).
