Description
Solitary cells 5-11 microns in diameter, and cells forming cubic packet aggregations 5-8 by 6-12 microns in size, uninucleate, with smooth cell wall. Chloroplast cup shaped, parietal without pyrenoid, and often two contractile vacuoles present in vegetative cells. Asexual reproduction by dissociation of cell packets and formation of walled, biflagellate zoospores, 4-6 by 6-12 microns in size, with median nucleus.
