Described as a fossil.
Description
Description emended by Feist, Génot & Grambas-Fessard (2003: 128): Thallus cylindrical, straight or curved, constricted at one end. The narrow central stem widens periodically at the point of origin of branches. Each whorl contains 13-18 primary branches that become progressively wider outwards for one half to two thirds of their length, and then narrow towards the periphery of the skeleton. A primary branch gives rise to 9-13 secondary branches, which are variable in length and laterally juxtaposed. Calcification of the thallus takes the form of calcareous cylinders around the central stem and the primary branches, but calcification only covers the internal face of the secondary branches.
