Description
Algae irridescent when living, erect, to 10cm tall, percurrent principal axes heavily corticated; branching alternate to three degrees; axes 1.4 - 1.9 (-2.6) mm diameter at the base; cortication of slender rhizoidal cells to 75 microns in length and to 8 microns in width; deteerminate lateral branches verticillately arranged, these branching mostly dichotomously near their base, to 4 times in total; basal cells of pseudolaterals partially immersed; basal cells of the adventitious determinate laterals shorter than long or approximately as long as broad, measuring 35-45 microns in width, cells of the determinate laterals increase in length and decrease in diameter distally to 30 microns in diameter before decreasing sharply to terminate in elongate filiform hair-like cells; the determinate laterals are 600 microns in length with the hairs extending an additional 1.9 mm; axes becoming denuded below; tetrasporangia produced in elongate-conical stichidia, to 550 microns in length and to 110 microns in breadth at the base; stichidia with five tetrasporangia per segment, tetrasporangia measuring 40-50 microns in diameter, each with three cover cells; spermatangial stichidia measure to 275 microns in length and 45 microns in breadth; pericarps urceolate with elongate carpostomes, pericarps measure 1.2 - 1.4 mm in lenth and to 0.8 - 1.1 mm at their broadest point.
