Type locality: Australia; Notes: According to Womersley (1996: 57), Lomentaria valida Kützing was described from Tasmania. He notes that what appears to be the type in L, 941, 149... 246 is from Lefevre Pen., S. Aust., Dec. 16, 1947 (probably a Mueller collection).
