The type species (holotype) of the genus Chylocladia is Chylocladia kaliformis (Goodenough & Woodward) Hooker.

This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Coelarthrum opuntia (Endlicher) Børgesen

Type locality: Australia Notes: According to Womersley (1996: 57), Lomentaria valida Kützing was described from Tasmania. He notes that what appears to be the type in L, 941, 149... 246 is from Lefevre Pen., S. Aust., Dec. 16, 1947 (probably a Mueller collection).
