Type locality: Lake Jabeler See, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany (53º31'36" N, 12º32'36" E); (Bock et al. 2011: 641) Holotype: Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa, Oban, Scotland; cryopreserved material of strain CCAP 222/62 (Bock et al. 2011: 641) Notes: Isotype: B40 0040721 (air-dried and formaldehyded-fixed sample of strain CCAP 222/62), deposited at the Botanical Museum at Berlin-Dahlem.
Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), inhabiting lakes (Stearn 1973).
