This is a marine species.
Holotype locality: Hopkins Marine Station, Pacific Grove, Monterey County, California (Lindstrom et al. 2011: 673). Holotype: fig. 7 (leftmost specimen): Patrick T. Martone (Z); 7 January 2008; epilithic, near coarse sand at base of boulders, +0.5 m above MLLW. UBC A88558 (Lindstrom et al. 2011: 673).
