Nomenclatural note
J. Agardh (1851: 73) gave "Griffithsia ? pinnata Crouan. mscr." and the name cannot therefore be attributed to the Crouan brothers as in Athanasiadis (2016: 848); see Art. 46.3 of the Melbourne Code: "For the purposes of Art. 46, ascription is the direct association of the name of a person or persons with a new name or description or diagnosis of a taxon. An author citation appearing in a list of synonyms does not constitute ascription of the accepted name, nor does reference to a basionym or a replaced synonym (regardless of bibliographic accuracy) or reference to a homonym, or a formal error." - (27 February 2017) - M.D. Guiry
