Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Pteromonas is Pteromonas aculeata Lemmermann.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Chloromonas polyptera (F.E.Fritsch) R.W.Hoham, J.E.Mullet & S.C.Roemer.
