Nomenclatural note
Arthur Lucas writes (6 August 2018): "The collector Kilner was based at Port Denison, Queensland, now called Bowen. [F. von] Mueller transmitted specimens collected there to Agardh, mentioned in letters from Mueller to Agardh of 25 July 1871, and 3 December 1871. It is highly likely that the specimen Agardh cites is from Port Denision. Other species named after Kilner from his collections probably came from the same 1871 batches, except perhaps for Acetabularia kilneri, but it too is from the same area, around Bowen, as is Whit Sunday Island, for Caulerpa kilneri and a number of other specimens where Kilner%u2019s specimen is cited in the same volume, sometimes saying Port Denison.
