Nomenclatural note
"This new combination was proposed in the same year by both South et Tittley (1986: 50) and Wynne (1986: 2260). We agree with Moe in INA (2023), that combination was possibly made earlier by South et Tittley since Wynne%u2019s proposal was published towards the end of that year (on 16.x.1986). Finally, it should be noted that the above combination had been previously proposed by Ballesteros & Romero (1982: 739 and 747, note 16) in a floristic list of seaweeds from Catalan coast of Spain, but invalidly because requirement of Art. 41.5 of ICN (Turland et al., 2018) weren%u2019t fulfilled." (Cormaci & al. 2023: 303). - (16 November 2023) - M.D. Guiry
