General Environment
This is a marine species.
Description
Mature thalli monostromatic sheets, up to 10 mm
across; cells scattered, embedded in a gelatinous matrix, often in
packets of 2-4 surrounded by a gelatinous layer or remnant parental
cell wall. Cells ovoid, approximately 5-8 µm x 6-9 µm; thin cell wall
or gel layer around some cells; each cell with one to two parietal
chloroplasts. Zoospores and sexual reproduction unknown.
