This is a marine species.
Lectotype locality: Mouth of Río Grande, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 73). Lectotype: P.Dusén; February 1896; TRH A9-449 (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 73). Notes: This type locality was first recorded by Adey & Lebednik (1967: 24). "see Adey 1970: 24 for typification" (Chamberlain (1994: 148). "It is uncertain whether Tierra del Fuego refers to Tierra del Fuego Island or the Tierra del Fuego Archipelago, and it also is uncertain whether the material was collected in Chile or Argentina." (Woelkering et al. 2005: 73).
